A signalling failure in this area is causing disruption to train services between Hastings and Ashford.
Signalling failures can occur for various reasons, including power issues, cable faults, or extreme weather conditions. In some cases, multiple faults contribute to the disruption. Can you tell me more about the incident?
A trespass incident was reported in the Brighton area, and trains had to be stopped for safety. Emergency services and Network Rail staff attended, and the person has now been removed from the railway.
Trespassing on the railway is extremely dangerous. Trains run at all times, often without warning, and many areas have high-voltage third rails, steep drops, and other hazards.
It is also illegal, with serious penalties for obstructing the railway.

- Trains between Huddersfield and Bradford Interchange will not run
- Trains between Huddersfield and Leeds via Dewsbury will be diverted to run between Bradford Interchange and Leeds via Halifax and Brighouse
- Trains between Wigan Wallgate and Leeds will run between Wigan Wallgate and Todmorden and between Halifax and Leeds via Brighouse / Dewsbury

TransPennine Express
From Saturday 30 August until Friday 5 September
As part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade Improvement Work at Huddersfield, trains will not run between Stalybridge and Mirfield, and will be diverted via Brighouse.
TransPennine Express services across the railway network will be subject to amendments for the duration of the works.

- Amended 05:14 Shrewsbury to Cardiff Central service on Tuesday 9 September
Engineering work is taking place between Shrewsbury and Hereford, closing all lines very early on Tuesday morning.
As a result, the 05:14 Shrewsbury to Cardiff Central service will start from Hereford at 06:06. A replacement bus will run from Shrewsbury at 04:06, and call at Ludlow and Leominster earlier than the train, in order for the bus to connect with the train at Shrewsbury.

- Amended East Midlands Railway Intercity service on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September
Engineering work is taking place at various locations between London St Pancras International Sheffield, closing some lines.
Saturday: The 04:58 Derby to London St Pancras International train will depart Derby earlier than scheduled at 04:38. It will then return to its scheduled departure time from Nottingham through to London St Pancras International. It will no longer call at Long Eaton, a connecting rail replacement bus will run between Derby and Nottingham calling at Long Eaton.
The 04:47 Derby to London St Pancras International train will depart Derby earlier than scheduled at 04:26. It will then return to its scheduled departure time from East Midlands Parkway through to London St Pancras international. It will no longer call at Long Eaton, a connecting rail replacement bus will run between Derby and East Midlands Parkway calling at Long Eaton.
The 19:50 Nottingham to London St Pancras International train will depart Leicester later than scheduled at 20:14, it will then depart Kettering earlier than scheduled at 20:34 and will then arrive London St Pancras International at it's scheduled time. It will not call at Market Harborough. You are advised to use earlier or later services.
Sunday:
A reduced timetable will operate as follows:
- One train per hour to / from Nottingham and London St Pancras International
- One train per hour to / from Sheffield and London St Pancras International
- An amended timetable to / from Corby and London St Pancras International

Until approximately 06:40 on Sunday morning, Thameslink trains will not be able to run between Brighton and Haywards Heath.

Engineering work is taking place between London Bridge and Streatham via Peckham Rye, closing all lines.
Buses will replace trains between London Bridge and Streatham via Peckham Rye, calling additionally at Herne Hill, Streatham Hill and Streatham Common, for additional connections.
Connecting trains will run between Streatham and East Croydon.

- Buses replace late night trains between Reading and Swindon / Chippenham on Sunday 7 September
Engineering work is taking place between Didcot Parkway and Swindon, closing all lines on Sunday evening.
As a result, the following trains will be diverted between Reading and Bath Spa, and will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon or Chippenham:
- The 23:00 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service
- The 23:33 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service
Replacement buses will run between Reading and Swindon / Chippenham. For Didcot Parkway, you should travel on the 23:33 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service and change at Reading for train services to Didcot Parkway.

- Amended 21:22 Crewe to Derby service on Sunday 7 September
Engineering work is taking place overnight in the Crewe area, closing some lines.
The 21:22 Crewe to Derby train will depart Crewe earlier than scheduled at 21:18, it will continue to run 4 minutes earlier until Longton, where it will return to its scheduled departure time through to Derby.

Engineering work is taking place between Canterbury West / Deal and Ramsgate, closing all lines.
Paddock Wood Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate via Ashford International will only run between London Victoria and Canterbury West. These trains will run to / from London Victoria because of further engineering work near Hither Green.
Highspeed via Ashford International: Trains between London St Pancras International and Margate via Canterbury West will only run between London St Pancras International and Canterbury West. Trains between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Dover Priory will only run between London St Pancras International and Deal.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Canterbury West and Margate calling at Ramsgate and Broadstairs
- Canterbury West and Ramsgate calling at all stations
- Deal and Ramsgate calling at Sandwich
The following stations will be closed and will only be served by replacement buses:
- Sturry
- Minster
- Sandwich

- Amended service between Stafford and Crewe on Sunday 7 September
Engineering work is taking place on the direct line between Stafford and Crewe, closing all lines.
Avanti West Coast:
Due to the main route being blocked, Avanti West Coast will operate the following amended timetable:
- 2 trains per hour between London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly (both via Stoke-on-Trent)
- 2 trains per hour between London Euston and Birmingham New Street, with some extended to Wolverhampton
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Glasgow Central via Tamoworth (diverted via Alsager)
- 1 train per hour between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street (diverted via Alsager)
- The majority of trains that usually run between London Euston / Birmingham New Street and Scotland, will operate operate between Preston and Glasgow / Edinburgh only
- North Wales Coast services operate between Crewe and Holyhead only
A fully accessible rail replacement bus service will operate between between Wolverhampton and Crewe, calling at Stafford.
CrossCountry:
Trains will be retimed by a few minutes between Wolverhampton and Stafford.
Early morning rail replacement road transport will operate between Wolverhampton, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent.
London Northwestern Railway:
Train services between London Euston / Northampton and Crewe will run between London Euston / Northampton and Stafford only. You are advised to travel on Stafford - Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent services (operating to a slightly amended timetable) between Stafford and Crewe.
Until 11:00 trains between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street will run between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street only.
The 09:23 Crewe to Birmingham New Street service will not run.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Crewe and Wolverhampton. You are advised to travel on other services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street.
After 11:00 train services between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street will run between Birmingham New Street and Stafford and between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street only. You are advised to travel on services between Stafford - Crewe (via Stoke-on-Trent) for connections.

Before 09:55, buses will replace trains between Carmarthen and Swansea.
Additionally:
- The 00:12 Swansea to Carmarthen service will be replaced by a bus
- The 07:48 Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock service will start from Whitland at 08:04. For travel between Carmarthen and Whitland, you should use the 07:10 Carmarthen to Haverfordwest replacement bus
- The 07:55 Carmarthen to Milford Haven service will start from Haverfordwest at 08:35. A replacement bus will run from Carmarthen to Haverfordwest
- The 09:55 Carmarthen to Milford Haven service will be retimed to start at 10:00
- The 10:03 Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock service will be retimed to start at 10:15

Trains between London Euston and Birmingham New Street will be diverted, and will either not call at Northampton or Long Buckby, or will run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central / between Northampton and Birmingham New Street only.
Train services between London Euston and Stafford (via Northampton) will be diverted and will not call at Northampton or Long Buckby.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton.
